My highest electric bill

I got my highest electric bill ever, today. It is for $204. Of course, I have a big house, 3200 sq. feet and it has been terrible hot this summer. I only budget $160 a month. It looks like I need to redo my budget.
I got the interest on my local money market account credited today. That was $129 to add to my challenge money.

    Ouch!

    That said, I know $300-$500 bills are fairly common here. Could be worse! (This is why people always assume we have HUGE bills - bigger house. Biggest bill I've ever gotten was $130. So that is why I say, "ouch!").

    you need to look into a whole house energy audit. Not a company that does a/c work or duct work, but an independent energy audit company. Money up front = money saved down the road. Check for federal and city and state credits too.
