At least for the braves, it is. Well, there is always next year. I add $5 to my $20 challenge every time they win a game. I added another $5 yesterday which makes my $20 challenge a total of $14,973.00. I expect to surpass $15,000 next week when I receive my savings dividends.

I still have not heard back from Vanguard as to why they blocked on line access to my account with them. It is my IRA account. I called again this morning and was told someone would call me back this week.
I feel a little better because I am now able to access my account with the tele phone line. My account is still there. I could not access it last Friday and that had me upset. I will keep you posted as to what the problem is when I find out.

Hubby is heading to Atlanta today to go and see a live braves game. I am terrified of traffic, so I have never been to a game. Hubby is going with a friend that use to live and work in Atlanta, so he is use to the traffic.
the breaves have not done too well lately, I hope they win today. My $20 challenge stands at:

I received a letter from Vanguard yesterday advising me that they had blocked online access to my vanguard accounts. They gave me a number to call.
I immediately called and was told that an advisor would call me back. They never called.
I called 3 more times and was given the same answer.
Finally, I asked for a supervisor who told me that I would be called back by "an interior department" but not until Monday or later.
I tried to just check my balance by telephone. And assistant came on and repeated that I would be called back by an advisor. I tired to check my balance on line, my password is invalid. This is a large sum of money, needless to say, I am worried. This is my IRA account and I have not made any transactions in a long time.
I do not understand why they can not tell me my balance or even if my money is still there. I am very upset, but don't know what to do???
Any advice?

Me, not so good.!
We ttok Molly into the vets at 9 a.m. to have surgery. They said they would call us by noon to tell us how she was doing.
I finally called them at 1 p.m. and they said she was still in surgery and to call back.
I called back at 2 pm and got the answering machine, so I drove the 7 miles to the vet's office.
She was out of surgery and doing ok, but I cried all the way home.
We have her home now and she seems to be ok but very quiet. I fed her a little egg custard for breakfast. (She has aa very sore throat from the incision)
She is a brave little girl and has never cried once. (Not like her mama)

My little Molly is undergoing surgery this morning. I did nnot get much sleep last night.
Last weekend, we felt a lump in her neck and I took her in immmediately on Monday to the vet.
They had to put a needle in her neck for a biopsy and later draw some blood for blood work. She never whimpered or cried. In fact, the girl that was holding her, when she got the needle in her neck, said to me, "Molly licked my face."
She is such a sweet and brave girl. I appreciate you all sending good thoughts her way.
(Molly is my older dog, age 5. She is a maltapoo. Her mother was a full blooded black poodle and her father was a full blooded white maltese. Molly looks like her daddy. She is full blooded sweetness!!!)

In last week's paper, the local shelter featured a dog named Benny. They said that Benny needed surgery. I sent a check to them for the surgery and yesterday I received a thank you note from Benny. A big Woof!
I have not gotten a handwritten thank you note in years. (But I still send them)
Very nice!

A new dollar store just opened up the road from me, yesterday. I don't do much shopping at dollar stores, except for cards and envelopes.
This one carries a lot of groceries and I checked the prices. They are much cheaper on most items. I will definately shop there more often, plus they are 6 miles closer than the dollar store by Ingles. The Ingles one is Family dollar and the one is Dollar General. Hubby and I went there last night and spent $16 on things we have been needing.
I went to Ingles today and saved $5 using my advantage card, so I will add that to the $20 challenge.
Prev. total $13,558.00
today 5.00
new total $13,562.00

I got a nice surprise in the mail yesterday. A friend has been calling dh and asking him a lot of questions about a small house he is building for his daughter. Sometimes they talk at Home Depot.
Yesterday, he sent him a $25 gift certificate for our local grocery store and told him to buy some beer with it! So, bottoms up!! He will enjoy this!

I did my grocery shopping today and saved $10 using my advantage card. I will add that to the $20 challenge. I also bought some batteries that I thought were on sale. When I checked my receipt, I see that I did not get a discount on them, so I will return them tomorrow.
A bit of trivia: On this date in 1956, Elvis first appeared on Ed Sullivan show!
Prev. total $13,527.00

In checking my Edward Jones account today, I discovered that I had received a dividend. Even tho I sold my Tim Horton Stock last week, I guess I was still the owner of record, when they declared a dividend.
I recently completed the paper work to be able to transfer money from my Edward Jones account to my local account, so I then transferred over the $42 dividend.
I will add that to my $20 challenge.
Prev. total $13,466.00
today 42.00
new total $13,508.00

Has anyone ordered propane for heating yet? I received a flyer that propane was $1.99 a gallon. I checked and could not find it any cheaper locally. I also received a $25 off coupon if ordered before Sept. 1st.
What are you paying for propane this year?
