Last week, I decided to redeem 2 small mutual funds and 4 different stock holdings. So far, I have received the proceeds from the mutual funds. Since I have been in the hospital, I have decided to simplify my financial life because my husband is not "into" investing. If something were to happen to me, I want to leave things as simple as possible for him. I can't do it all at once, but this is a start.
I am going to take these funds and pay off some land that I have a mortgage on.
I have not kept very good track of the stock market or my non driving days, so I am adding $20 to my $20 challenge fund.

I have a large number of mutual funds and stock holdings. Most of them do not have great sums of money in them. Just something I found interesting to do when I was in my 50's. Now, since I have been hospitalized, I have decided to close some of them. My husband is not into money managing and I can;t imagine leaving him with a mess to sort out.
Of course, I do not want to pay a lot of taxes on capital gains, so I will take it slowly. I sent off to close one mutual fund and two stocks yesterday. I will add the cash to our EF.
I also saved $11 at Ingles yesterday, which I will ad to my $20 challenge.

I just wanted to add some singles to my $20 challenge. I have not been keeping very good track of the stock market going up or my no driving days (no gas used), so I will just add all of my available singles.
