I am having my baby spayed today. I have to admit, I don't really like it. I did not have the last two poodles spayed. It scares me.They stay inside, so no chance they could get pregnant. I did get my Molly spayed. (maltese-poodle mix) Abbey is a maltese, 9 months old. I can hardly wait to go and pick her up. I hope she will recover quickly . I have no idea what this will cost.

I had to buy tag decals for all the cars last week. It came to $606.00 Ouch! That hurt!

This is week 5 of my 52 week challenge. This week, I was only able to add $24, but it is better than nothing, right!

I add the savings of using my Ingles advantage card to the $20 challenge every week. I shop on Tuesdays, but I missed last week. So I am adding the $10.00 that I saved last week and the $7 today for a total of $17.

WE are having company for supper tonight. I bought a ham to fix. The store receipt says that I saved $29 by buying the ham on sale. I am NOT putting that aside cause I would NEVER pay that much for a ham.

I also got a birthday cake. (small) It is my dh's birthday tomorrow!!

I am on week four of the 52 week challenge. This week I have $51 to add to the challenge money. That brings me to a grand total of $157 on this four week old challenge.

I don't mean to brag, but I have always had a new house. I guess that is because I am married to a builder. Now, I will brag, he is the best builder in the state cause he does all thw work by himself. We have never had to repair or fix anything. I know that will end some day cause our house is 17 year old. Time for a new house????????

I went to the grocery store this morning to get something for dinner tonight and tomorrow night. I noticed that they had the big spiral sliced hams on sale.
I desperatly need to have over some friends for dinner. They have us over all the time. She is a great cook, which I am not! Most of the time my huband does our cooking. BUT, he works 7 days a week, so it is harad to have company very often.
I think I will buy a ham and invite them over next weekend. Ham is pretty easy to fix!

Today, Feb. 15th, will always be Elvis day for me! It is the only day I ever got to see Elvis in person in concert. He came to my area a lot when I was about 12 (Daytona beach) but my mother would not allow me to go and see him in person. I finally to to see him the year he died. He was great in person. I shall never forget him. I met my husband three days later, so it was the best week of my life. This was in 1977!

I just finished week 3 of the 52 week challenge. This weekI had $32 left over to add to the challenge. I thought that was pretty good!

I had another no use gas day! That is another $2 to the challenge.

My oldest granddaughter is 24 years old today. I remember coming home from the hospital at 5 am. in the morning, 24 years ago. It was 9 degrees outside. She got married back in early October. Now, I got a letter from her saying that she is pregnant. I am going to be a great grandma!
I know there are a lot of grandmas on this forum but I think I am the first to become a great grandma!

The local building company that we do business with, gives me a rebate every month. They use to send us a check every few months, but now they just deduct it off the bill. I still take the money and add it to the $20 challenge. This month it came to $83. I will take it!

I play bridge at my house every monday! I love it! I took lessons a few years ago and have been playing ever since. Last Monday, my friend installed Bridge Baron on my computer. Now, I can play bridge every day! I love it. Do any of you play bridge? It is a cheap wasy to have fun!

My puppy has chewed thru 3 of her leashes. On Tuesday, I bought 2 more new leashes at Ace. I put one on her yesterday and by this morning she had chewed thru it. ( I might mention that she sleeps in bed with me and I keep the leash on my wrist so she can't fall out of bed at night; she is so little)

I just bought two more leashes and one of them is a chain leash. I feel guilty about that, cause she only weighs 5 pounds and chain is heavy! I don't know what to do.
The stock market went up a little yesterday and I had a no use gas day so $3 to add to the challenge.

The $30 a day challenge is going well. I am on day 10, so I have saved up $300!! So far, so good! Both os my puppies got groomed this week and one had a heartworm test, so it was a bit of a spending week for me. But they are so worth it!

I did my grocery shoppping yesterday for a change. I usually do it on Tuesdays but we were OUT of food. I saved $6 using my advantage card which I will add to the $20 challenge.

It is week 2 for me of the 52 week challenge. I did great this week, cause I basically spent no money except for groceries! We did go out to eat, but our friends paid for dinner. I went to a party last night, so ate free again! I am able to add the top amount $52 to the 52 week challenge!

Some of you may remember that last year I started a $30 a day challenge. I challenged myself to put away $30 every single day in a canister, depositing the money once or twice a month into savings.

Well, I kept up the challenge until July 19th. That means I saved almost $900 a month for over 6 1/2 months. I had to stop in July because the spec house was done, and dh's paychecks slowed down quite a bit.

Well, we sold the spec house last week, so I decided on Jan 28th (the day of closing)that I would start the $30 a day challenge all over again. Wish me luck!! I am now on day 7!!

The weather channel said it would snow today, but I did not believe it. We had faily clear skies this morning. I laid down to take a nap and when I woke up, I was snowed in. Luckily, my dh made it home from work in just the nick of time. Looks like a no use gas day for me today.

I had an appointment this morning to take my puppy, Abbey in to get groomed. I got a call this morning that my appointment had been cancelled.
My groomer's house burned down to the ground early this morning. Their little poodle dog (just like my Holly) woke them up with her barking and saved their lives. The husband put the wife and dog out the window and went to save the pet bird. The bird escaped and the husband suffered from smoke inhalation and had to go to the hospital. They lost everything. I feel so badly for them.
I am going to give them a check for $1000 to help them out. I am so glad that they got out in time.

I am going to start adding my ING interest to the $20 challenge. I use to do that last year, but then the interest got so low cause I had to use that money to build on this new spec house. I got $4 in interest for last month, however, the money was only in for one day!
