The snow is gone!

December 16th, 2010 at 10:04 pm

The snow is finally gone. It has been here since Saturday. We got rain today, so it melted all the snow. I was able to get to town today and run a few errands. My dh was sick last night.
He has been having the same symptoms that he had before the gall bladder surgery.
I am not very good on a computer, but I googled it and it says that about 40% of all people who have their gall bladders taken out, still have the same symptoms after surgery.
He has to completely change his diet and give up everything he loves.
Now, I am a meat and potatoes type of person, I could never do what he is going to have to try and do. Give up all red meat, pork, chicken, bacon, sausage, milk, ice cream, butter, chocolate, etc. Everything good is going to have to go! I feel so sorry for him.

I had a no use gas day yesterday plus I have 3 $1's to add to the challenge for a total of $5.

Prev. total $16,092.00
today 5.00
new total $16,097.00

    Julie,

My sister had her gallbladder out at age 24. She did have to change her diet - mostly to avoid high fat foods. But eventually, she was able to incorporate the foods she loves back into her diet... just in moderation. Sorry to hear that he's still having problems. You should call the doc & see what they recommend for eating.

That is a challenge with the dietary change, but if you get creative there are probably some really good foods that he can eat that will still lead to good health and lessened symptoms. And hopefully, as mentioned above, he will have some insurance of being able to work some things back in without trouble later. Good luck!
    Jerry
