Christmas in July!!

July 9th, 2010 at 08:12 pm

We are invited to a party tomorrow night. It is a Christmas in July party for the humane society. Our shelter is a no kill shelter which I really am proud of. I try to donate money as often as I can. (I plan to put them in my will)
The whole house is decorated for christmas and all the gifts are for the animals and are put under the tree. Since I know that the shelter always needs money, I always write a check and pin it to the tree. What a great idea this party is. This is the 3rd year in a row that this couple has given this party.

Well, the stock market went up two days in a row; the braves won 2 games in a row, so $4 to add to my $20 challenge.

Prev. total $10,904.00
today 4.00
new total $10,908.00

I'm leaving 10% of my estate to animal welfare non-profits or charities. We're also leaving money for the care of any pets my husband & I have when we are both dead, and any money left over after the pets die also goes to the same animal welfare groups.

Do you have a will yet???

Enjoy the party Ima Saver! What a great cause.

First Saturday of hte month our local shelter collects food/etc at Costco. We ask every month what they need. This month it was kitty food, kitty litter and puppy chow. We bought a bag of each. We try to make it every month. Of course I always get the receipt card for taxes!

What a great idea for a party!

Say Ima, did you have a problem with Molly mouthing you and your DH a lot when she was little (i.e. under six or seven months)? If so, how did you handle it?

No, she wanted to chew and bite on us once in a while. Is that what you mean??

Sort of. Buddy likes to do it (mouthing) quite a bit. We've tried a couple of different methods to get him to stop, or at least be "softer." (Saying, uh uh, or squeeling, or saying Ouch! and turning away from him ...). It's getting a little better, but I was just wondering how you dealt with it.
