Shocked!

March 27th, 2010 at 03:52 pm

I too was shocked to see all the changes in the savingadvice forum. I had a really hard time logging in. I never log out cause this is my favorite forum, so I was a little nervous about not being able to post. Did that happen to you this morning? I am not very good at computers, so I hope I can get this all figured out quickly!

Yes, so far, the changes are not all for the better. And there are some log in issues, too. I am hoping that these problems are only temporary during the transition. What also surprised me is that there was no warning about the upcoming changes. I liked the list of "All Blogs"... as #1, you were always easy to find. I also liked the long list of recent entries with the name of the blogger. I don't see these on the new site.

Hey Julie, I'm doing okay reading the blogs, but cannot get properly logged into the forums to post in the thread asking for observations on what may be broken since the site change. Frown I might just send an email to the webmaster later if someone else does not appear to mention on that thread the sort of troubles I see. (It may be specific to my browser, though).

Oh, BTW, I think I heard four more Georgia banks were closed down last night! Did you hear?

This is my first time here in a while and it looks like the bugs are being worked out nicely.

My first impression of the change is sort of lukewarm, but then it always takes me a while to warm up to changes. I already can't really remember the details of what the site used to look like, but I do remember it was pretty distinctive, so homogenization is my only real worry.

I'm also not sure about working to expose more of the site content to Google, which is already scaringly efficient and exhaustive in what it finds and how fast it does it.

No, I did not hear about the banks. Our paper only comes out once a week and it is only local news, so I am always behind the times.
