I made it for 2 straight weeks without going out to eat. Now, if you didn't know it, I have been eating out 5 days a week for several years. The owner of the restaurant that I go to, calls me a stock holder!!
I have been trying to do better this past year! Last night, was the first night I have gone out to dinner in 2010!
Plus, I had a gift certificate, so I saved $20 on my meal. I am adding that and another dollar (cause the stock market went up yesterday) to my challenge money.
Prev. total $381.00
today 21.00
new total $402.00
2 straight weeks!

We eat out so little, and the portions are so big I can usually turn them into DAYS of leftovers. But every time the scale ticks up, I notice our eating out bill has too. I think this is a big reason we will never be big "diner outers" even when we have more means. We used to eat out all the time before we had kids, and just notice a huge difference in our health, with preparing our own meals. We eat all the same stuff - but it just is fresher, tastes better, and apparently less fattening. My spouse is "underweight" but lost about 10 pounds in 6 months when I got pregnant. (He got laid off at the same time and decided to start cooking dinner every night, to save money. I didn't lose weight - because I Was pregnant - but I have maintained ever since having kids - without any effort. I Was gaining before, with the desk job and all the eating out).
