I am having a birthday again and remembering an old song that George Burns recorded in 1979.
I wish I was 18 again,
and going when I've never been,
but old folks and old oaks,
standing tall, just pretend,
I wish i was 18 again.
It sure would be nice to start over again, knowing what I know now. However, I have been pretty lucky in my life and have enjoyed it.
I was born on Thanksgiving day. My mother griped that she had fixed a big dinner and did not get to eat any of it!
lol!!
My dear husband gave me a neat birthday card this morning. It plays my favorite song to dance too, "Wipe Out"
(most of you have probably never even heard this song)
I wish I was 18 again!

This reminds me of a former co-worker who claimed she was a Thanksgiving baby. Her birthday is/was 11-20. We all @@ at her because she was in fact NOT a Thanksgiving baby. Thanksgiving can ONLY be on November 22 - November 28 (obviously it varies each year). So she was born close to Thanksgiving not ON Thanksgiving.
And it's funny you say what you said about your mom, Ima....... I think it's Katherine Heigl who had the same experience and she say to this day her mom never let's her forget (in a teasing way) that "she" ruined not only Thanksgiving but the day after as well. Her mom had tix to see Neil Diamon and couldn't. Apparently that made her mom the most upset. LOL
