An expensive summer!

August 19th, 2009 at 06:20 pm

This has been an expensive summer. First of all, dh finished both houses and really has not had much work this summer. He is starting on a house, but didn't have much to do while the grading and poured basement was done.
So, he has been doing projects around the house and some have been very costly.

Our yard has never looked better. He has bought dozens of bags of mulch. He has planted bushes and flowers. He pressure washed the house. He has washed all the windows since then. Right now, he is repainting all of the white cabinets in the master bedroom and all the bathrooms.
He has ordered some fancy tile and stone to redo the front and back porch decks. That alone came to over $2000!
So, very little money coming in, and lots of money going out!
Well, I did use some coupons at Ingles today and managed to save $10 for the $20 challenge.
Prev. total $21,107.00
today 10.00
new total $21,117.00

This is probably a time where he has the time to do jobs that he has the time to do now. He uses his time wisely and yes it will take some money, Material for jobs is a little more afforadable now.

I recently replaced something and took advantage of a low price in a down economy. It was something I had wanted to replace. It's also a good time for those to replace some appliances that the government will give rebates for.

I think you're really blessed to have a husband like yours. Mine also likes to work around the house. We are blessed women Ima so we need to enjoy it.

    Hi there

I've been following your posts but how did you go from $12K to $21K in a matter of weeks (you don't have to answer if you don't want to...)
