Lots of deer last night.

My husband built two big deer feeders which we fill with corn every night. Last night, we counted 15 deer at the feeders. He had to go refill the feeders after they ate all the corn. It is so neat to watch them running around the yard.
As for the $20 challenge, I saved $2 on ground beef yesterday, the stock market went up and I won 4 games of mah jong.

    We want to do this as well. I love watching the deer, altough I think my husband thinks he is gonna eat those deer one day, but I have other plans...

    Too many deer have caused a big controversy in my town now. They want to have a town-endorsed deer cull/hunt with bow and arrow and guns, which i think is ridiculous in a suburb like mine.

    Most letter writers in the paper are against it.

    I remember years ago watching a fawn race around my backyard with its mother nearby. I was sitting on my screened porch and the fawn was close enough that i could hear its hooves pounding the earth. Very cool.

    How very cool. Smile My grandparents (mom's side) lived on a small farm in Ohio. They would have deer and other wildlife going through their yard all the time. They also kept a birdfeeder up in the backyard and had a huge variety of birds visit them.

    I have not seen many deer around our house in the last few months. They culled them from a nearby gated community, despite lots of controversy, and I think our development may have been in their grazing range. In our subdivision, everyone I've spoken to loves to see the deer come around and leaves them alone.
