Good for the boy scouts!!

I just read an article about the personal management badge, which boy scouts between 12-17 have to earn. It teaches them about simple, compound interest, mutual funds and certificates of deposit. They also learn why good credit is so important. Good for the boy scout leaders to teach these boys about money.
Well, I had a no use gas day yesterday and the stock market went up on Monday, so I will add $3 to my challenge money.

    Yes, it's never to early to teach children about being responsible with money. Hopefully, the Girl Scouts are doing the same.

    That is great! It fits with the Boy Scout motto to "Be Prepared," doesn't it? My little niece is in 4H and they are learning some about personal finance too. She's only 6, so it's a bit more basic but very good stuff, such as learning to distinguish a want from a need.

    Actually, I was in the Girl Scounts for years. They do have badges for personal finance & if I remember, investing. Also a good program for kids - geared towards business is Junior Acheivement
