When will gas be half price?

October 16th, 2008 at 08:12 pm

I see that oil prices are down to about $70 a barrel. It was over $140 not that long ago. so, i wonder when gas will go on "sale" and we will be paying half price??
This gas crisis has really made me rethink my driving habits. I use to go to town every day just for fun! Now, I stay home and add my gas saving money to the challenge.
I stayed home yesterday, so that is $2 to add to the challenge plus I won 3 games of mah jong, so that makes a total of $5.
prev. total $21,880.00
today 5.00
new total $21,885.00

It's going down steadily here. I filled up on Tuesday for $2.79 a gallon. I'm hoping it will settle around $2.50 or lower. It makes such a huge difference in the gas budget.

In an effort to save some money (and get some exercise, I cannot lie), I've started biking to and from work. You're right Ima, this gas crisis has really made me rethink our driving habits. It's no longer just hop in the car and go!

I will be relieved as the prices go down though. In Chicago it's been close to $4.75 at times!

Down to $2.67 here. I'm not sure where it peaked but it was certainly over $4.00.

In my opinion, gas SHOULD be under $2/gallon since oil is under $70/barrel. However, that is NEVER going to happen. Why would it? They can charge $2.50-ish/gallon and people are happy.

liza, I am not that far from Boone. I use to own land there near Mast's General store. I am in blairsville, Ga. near the N. C. state line.

$3.15 in Denver. And here I was starting to get excited.
Gas seems to always drop at the end of summer and before elections. I'm expecting to it spike in time for the holidays.
