Pollyanna

October 6th, 2008 at 03:51 pm

I saw a very old movie last night, Pollyanna. Do you remember it? Pollyanna always played the "glad game" and tried to find good in every situation.
Believe it or not, that movie affected my life when I was younger. I always tried to look on the bright side of every situation and as a result, I have always been a very happy person.
I think, in this economic crisis, it is time for all of us to take a minute out every day and play the "glad game" Count your blessings!!

I count my blessings often and realize that life is not about money. However, it is frightening when one realizes that their best laid plans can get way-laid by things far beyond their control.

Ima, I absolutely love the POLLYANNA books!!! Yes, it also helped me to see things differently, it is so inspirational!! I actually bought myself a copy of the books and read them every couple years for the refreshing encouragement.

I think that is neat, Myrtle! I found out the movie came out in 1960, so i was a teenager when I saw it.

The crazy thing about all this is that I am not the Pollyana personality. Rather, some would accuse me of a "glass half empty" kind of guy, though I've always thought I was just a realist.

But here's the thing, while there is a lot of good reasons to be concerned with this economy, I think people are also missing the strength that's hidden in there, admist all the chaos.

But again, that's just me being what I believe is the realist that I am. There's strength in the market, and there is also weakeness. The important thing to me is to keep both within perspective.

I saw that movie several months back for the first time and just LOVED it! The movie may be old but the message is timeless.
