Free $200

March 4th, 2008 at 02:38 pm

I have received another $50 check from my Chase reward Mastercard. That makes $200 I have received from them so far. DH charges on the card at Home depot for his building materials and we always pay the bill in full each month.
The $200 received has been just this year, so I am looking forward to many more $50 checks.
I will add this to the $20 challenge.
Prev. total $4731.00
today 50.00
new total $4781.00

That's terrific, Julie. BTW, does your Chase card let you accumulate unlimited cash rewards during the year? I have a Chase Cash Rewards card, but the fine print on the terms indicates the annual rebate limit is $300.

I've read something simiiar to that about the limits. Good job though Ima. That's a pretty good little extra income.

There is no limit on this card. I can redeem anytime I hit $50, but the points do expire after a year. I redeem just as soon as I hit 5000 points.

Wow, that's awesome. What is the name of that Chase MasterCard, if I might ask? It sounds much better than the one I have.

Ima: I go online before I receive my statement and if the points have already been added for the month, I ask for the check to be sent. I do all of this online with the credit card company. I started checking my account because it would be close to the closing time and also my vacation time and I wanted to pay the bill before I left and that's how I found out about the points online.

Yeah, is that $20 challenge from the beginning of 2008?
I wanted to start a monthly balance of mine, but I never get more than just change off the ground and out of the washer/dryer.

Julie, I always charge everything to my
Text is Cash rewards cards and Link is http://www.nationalpayday.com/moneyblog/?p=376
Cash rewards cards for everything (and then pay off every month), that way every couple months I get free money for using debt as a tool not a ball and chain.

helpmefriend: I keep track of my 20 Challenge separate. That's the only way you can see where you are. I also put it in a separate account so it can earn interest. In the beginning, it was just a few cents and now has grown to over $3.50 a month. That's equivalent to finding 350 pennies on the ground. Also, you can keep your coupon money back. If you didn't hand in those coupons to the cashier, you would pay more for your groceries.

Yes, this is my total for 2008 so far. The card is the Chase business card with premier cash rebate. They pay 3 percent back on all home improvement stores. With dh being a builder, he charges a lot each month, so we get lots of points!! I keep my challenge money in a savings account also, but I comingle it with my savings and just keep track on paper.
