UPS guy is her best bud!

March 3rd, 2008 at 04:52 pm

I have a friend who gets a delivery from the UPS guy everyday. She shops on line constantly. She lives in a small house but the house is overflowing with "stuff" She is in the process of building a bigger house, so she can fill it with more stuff.
The sad part to me is that she is 60 and she and her husband had to let a loan to build this house. By the age of 60, you should really be mortgage free, especially if you make good money like her husband.
I thought you got wiser when you get older, but I guess that is not always true!

Growing up, I used to think that too.

Unfortunately, I am learning that older is indeed not always wiser. Only wiser is wiser....

She should really be downsizing. After one retires, who wants to heat, furnish, paint, and maintain a larger home? That doesn't sound like a wise decision but then look at the credit crunch our country is in and then you'll understand why this lady thinks the way she does.

Some people actually rent out storage space to keep all of their stuff.

Stuff is killing me. I don't want to be 60 years old and still dealing with all of that baggage, emotional and physical.
Her husband only wants to make his wife happy, and you know that he is not when his home has been taken over by someone else, CRAP!
She must have the finest things in life, but doesn't see that her time with him is the finest it will get.

It is too bad. Usually by 60, one learns that joy does not equal spending money.

I know people like that and always feel sorry that they're missing the good stuff in life.
