I checked my propane tank

December 14th, 2007 at 08:21 pm

I just went and checked my propane tank to see how I was doing. I had 100 gallons left over from last winter and I put 400 gallons in the tank in mid October.
I have a 1000 gallon buried tank, so I had approx. 50% worth of propane.
Well, it has been almost 2 months and I still have 42% worth of propane left. Iam very pleased with that.
I keep the temp. in my house set at 63. If I worked all day, I would keep it even lower. My little dog gets cold easily, but she has a heating pad to sleep on.
Well, yesterday, I walked a mile on my treadmill. I have done 34 flights of stairs in the past 2 days. The stock market went up. I had a no spend day and I never used any gas at all. So, I am adding $5 to my challenge money.
Prev. total $25,860.00
today 5.00
new total $25,865.00

What is the actual temp in your house? I know you keep it set at 63, but since you are down south, does it actually kick on at 63 and run on a regular basis? Or is your outside temp normally warmer??

We live in the mountains of north Georgia, just 10 miles away from North Carolina. The heat kicks on at 62 degrees and runs til it gets up to 64! It gets pretty cold here all winter!! Our weather is a lot like North Carolina and Tennessee.

I agree with Amber. Watching the news of the ice storms this week, having my house at 63 degrees. Nope, I'm good, thanks. It was chilly enough to wrrant buying Juliette sweat pants ... now that's got to be cold.

Funny, amber cause I lived in florida over 30 years and I hated the heat. I like having 4 seasons a year, but winter is not my favorite!

I was just up near the DC and Penn.area for thanksgiving and soon remembered why I moved to Florida. I couldn't believe how cold it was and how dreary. The first thing that I did when I came home was put on a pair of shorts and go out into the sunlight.
