ok, back to saving!

September 23rd, 2007 at 12:49 pm

Well I need to get back into my savings mode. DH and I discussed our situation and we are just not going to automatically offer to pay for the whole roof. At first, we are going to offer to pay for just 1/3 and ask them to get loans. If they don't want to, we are going to ask that either we quit claim our share of the house to them or them to us. We don't care. We just want to be out of the mess.
We can't take care of a house that is 600 miles away.
Plus, things are really slowing down here and who knows how much longer we will have work to support ourselves.

So, I have my term insurance money to add to the challenge today, plus I walked 2 miles and the braves won on Friday (I forgot to check on Sat.)but I will assume that they did and add $55 to my challenge money.
Prev. total $20,895.00
today 55.00
new total $20,950.00

ps, the braves won, so I won't take the dollar back!!

Sorry, I was away and just read your posts. Sorry to hear about what has been happening. Ima, $12,000. is alot of money to pay for someone else. That would be alot for you to pay for your own repair. You could only do that a few times and then you would start having your own money problems.

Look, today it's the roof; tomorrow the plumbing, and thereafter - who knows? Once they know they can open the faucet, it doesn't stop. I have a fil that will not ask the son who lives with him for anything, but yet asks all of the rest of the family for what he wants.

You said that there was a duplex. Who is renting it and isn't there some income involved?
