Waiting for the repair man

Today, I am waiting for the appliance repair man. As talented as my husband is, he knows nothing about appliances except how to install them.
We think the dishwasher got struck by lighting, that is when it went out. While he is here, we are going to have him look at my free standing ice maker. It quit making ice about a month ago. These are expensive machines, about $900 and it just keeps breaking down. If it cost too much, I am just not going to bother getting it fixed. so, it should be an expensive day today.
I played bridge yesterday so I did not walk. The stock market finished down, however the braves won, so I have a whole $1 to add to my challenge money.

    Hope the repair visit went well. When our washing machine broke, I called a few repair places and decided the cost for someone to come out wasn't worth it. They all wanted at least $60 just to look at it. We decided to just ditch it and put that $60 toward a new one.

    I'm curious about the free-standing ice maker? What do you do with all that ice?

    My husband works out in the hot sun all day. He takes a cooler full of ice every day to work.
