Gift cetificate

We are invited to a birthday party tomorrow night. So today, I bought a gift certificate to my favorite restaurant to give as a gift. People always like free food, as least I do.
The stock market ended up yesterday, I walked a mile and did 20 flights of stairs, so I have $3 to add to my challenge money.

    I love gift certificates as a gift! I know alot of people think it is a cheesy gift because you (not you specifically, but the general you) didn't put alot of thought into it. I say, who cares how much actual thought was put into it? Someone thought enough of you to buy you a gift. Plus, when I get a GC to a store, it feels like I am going on a shopping spree, yet someone else is footing the bill! How can that possibly be thoughtless??? ;-)

    I'm one of those people who doesn't like GCs. I don't like having to carry them around in case I happen to go to the store. I don't like having to remember to take them with me when I go to the store. I don't like when I get a card for a store that I don't need anything from. I don't like having to spend more than the card value in order to use the whole card.

    When I get a GC as a gift, I often sell it on ebay. It's worth it to me to pay the fees and get the cash to use as I please with no hassles or strings attached.

    I actually do not like gift cards either. I am sitting on one to a frame shop that I got 3-4 years ago. But if it is to a restaurant that I like, then I love it. I happen to know that this couple eat at this restaurant a lot, so they will use it!
