The pencil leads that I bid on e bay, well I won them. I think it is cute to say, I won, because I am really paying for them. I promise, I won't look at e bay very often. I can see that you can get some good bargains, but only if it is something that you really need.
Now I have to buy a money order for $12 to pay for the pencil leads. In case you wonder why we need them, my husband draws all his own house plans by hand and we do not have an office supply store anywhere.

Many, many companies sell everyday merchandise on ebay at great prices because the overhead is much lower than at a traditional store. Search and you shall find.
Before we buy almost anything, I do a quick search on ebay to see if it is cheaper there. Even with postage, items are often cheaper on ebay. For example, my wife knits. A while back there were some better quality needles she wanted. They were $16/pair locally. On ebay, I bought them from a dealer in China for $10/pair. Shipping was cheap and we bought several pairs, saving about $25 in the process.

I've also been trying to buy a few items of clothing to build up my very sad wardrobe; I usually get outbid, but once in awhile I "win" something at the terrific bargain price I'm willing to pay.
