I just totaled up the interest that I earned on savings (money market, checking and a c.d.) and it totals to $2242.58.
That was what I earned for the month of february. wow, free money!!

    Again I told you ImaSaver, that you probably have way too much in readily available cash if you are hauling in $2242 a month in interest! Put some more in stocks and create other diversifiable investments that will help guard against inflation.

    Dicky, we have to use a lot of cash to buy land and build houses. We don't borrow from the bank. We do have several mutual funds and stocks! When I start a new house, my interest will drop way down.

    I was reading Your Money or Your Life by Joe Dominguez and that was one of the biggies that he was talking about. He said to build a Capital Fund that would generate an income for you and in time you would be able to live off of the income alone. In your case, you're using it to build houses which gives you income. You're smart to be your own bank. I really did enjoy that book. He believes that you should try to preserve your capital as much as possible.
