I am so happy that I have this forum to come to. Everone here is so kind and nice to each other. It is nice to be among people who are interested in the same things as I am. Yesterday was not a very good day, but I hope today is better.

    Julie,

    You are among friends here...and we enjoy your posts and discussions.

    I took the liberty of visiting your frugal thing today thread at blairsville.com...and it looks like the folks there enjoy your posts as well...with the exception of a couple who pobably got their nose bent when their posts were deleted by the Admin. Why stop encouraging savings for the many because of the disjointed opinions of a couple?

    I do not see how encouraging others to save can make someone so irritable...but they clearly have a twisted perception of you. YES, a person can be frugal and own nice things and 'toys'... It is about CHOICES we make.

    I too was once in the shoes of a single mom with three kids trying to make it til payday...and now we have a beautiful home on two acres with a few toys...but I still save and plug the small holes (and look for inexpensive/free alternatives wherever I can...and am proud when I do...)

    I am sorry you are being 'cyber-stalked' by those two....hopefully, it will be short-lived.

    I agree with Thrifty Ray 100%. Some people (me for the most part) are frugal across the board out of necessity, desire, or other reasoning. Others are frugal in a few places to allow them to be not so frugal in others (my mother). We all have our own 'style' of thrift and in my opinion, it's no one's business how you spend your money. We all make choices on how we spend our money. A lot of people would cringe at paying $92 a month for internet access but for us, it's basically a necessity to our business and we pay it knowing we have to cut back somewhere else. Anyway, I love reading your entries, Julie, and I think quite highly of the person I imagine you to be.

    I missed yesterday's drama but saw it this morning. Just wanted to let you know that I enjoy your posts and think you are a very kind person. I have not forgotten the way you helped my librarian friend and truly appreciate it. Keep on encouraging everyone to save. Some will like it; others won't. That's their problem.

    i think you should keep being open about frugality... i know some people don't always appreciate it but that's ok...you might never know it but maybe you helped somebody learn something or made them think a different way...
    people need more frugal role models nowadays cuz we are definately in the minority... you are one of those role models...

    I've noticed that they haven't posted today...thank goodness! I don't think they felt welcome here!LOL Honestly, I just wouldn't visit that forum anymore. You need to keep your focus positive...not negative, and obviously these people are nothing but negative.

    You are right, we are all a big part of a very nice family. I have been on that forum for 2 or 3 years. There are just a few that cause trouble and they just don't like me, mostly because of money issues.
