change jar

January 3rd, 2007 at 09:46 pm

I took my change jar to the bank today to see how much I had saved. I save all my coins, except my pennies. I try and use them all up. Anyway, I came home with a little over $40 to add to my challenge money.
Prev. total $44.00
today 40.00
new total $84.00

The little girl at the bank this afternoon made me drive around and park in order to deposit my $33.12 (mucho coins) from December's $20 Challenge. That's a first...normally I just do it at the commercial window and they're good with it. Glad I had my gladrags on and not my frumpy housewife garb!

    Way to go Ima!!

It must be the day to take change to the bank. I did that too. I didn't have that much though, but took some in a few weeks ago. One good thing about having less change though, is the less I spend, the less change I have.

I deposited mine today also! I had $11 dollars in quarters and pennies. Forgot to add it to the challenge money though! Must do that now!!!

For years, I have thrown all of my change in a basket in my dresser. Once a year I would cash it in and add the money to my investment account. My wife and children found my stash one day and the change somehow became community property. I had to hide it somewhere else. Saving is important. Teaching you kids that is even more important.
