Window cleaner's challenge

December 29th, 2006 at 09:00 pm

We had a window cleaner here last week. we have spotty windows from pressure washing the house so much. He tried on one window and could not get the spots off. He is back and trying again. We may have to live with these spots forever or sell the house!! Or put up curtains!

Is the glass etched? Could it be mineral deposits that can be removed with straight vinegar? Were there defects in the glass to begin with? Have you called a glazier to see if there is a solution to your problem?

Just some ideas I'm throwing out there Julie!Smile

No, the windows looked fine when we put them in. They are anderson windows. I don't think there is a glazier around here, we don't even have wal marts!! It took the guy an hour and a half, but he got one window clean.

Try using the finest steel wool available(0000). If not there are acid based chemicals that will remove mineral deposits, available at most janitor supply stores.
