I am over 70, but still feel like I am just 7. I love to go dancing with my wonderful husband of almost 40 years.Since we have never earned a lot of money, we have learned to take care of what we have. We live in the mountains in north georgia in a big beautiful house that my husband build and it is mortgage free. Now I am trying to save so my "younger" husband can retire someday.

I am laughing now!

I just got my mail. I got an invitation to a new year's eve party! The invite says tux or suit and tie for men, dressy attire for lady.
The reason I am laughing is the party starts at 6:30 pm and ends at 9:30 pm.

A new year's eve party that ends at 9:30 pm? Gosh, I need younger friends! (the gal giving this party is 10 years younger than me)

I've never heard of an early New Year's Eve party- that's a new one on me. I love New year's Eve, and, like you, I love parties!!!

Maybe it is supposed to be an open house, where people can come between six and nine. Perhaps they have a bigger and better party to attend and want everyone gone by nine-thirty. Or, maybe they can't stay awake past ten!

About 8 years ago, I was invited to a new year's eve party and it stated that the party would be over at 10pm. We just went to friends afterwards and celebrated til after midnight.
I guess we will just come home and keep the party going there!!

If you would like to come to NJ, you're welcome to crash our party. Tons of food, flowing drinks, and we party till the ball drops. It's not a fancy party, but it's a ton of fun!

What kind of New Years Eve party ends at 9:30pm? Is it past their bedtime or something. Even *I* am not that strict.

But then, I'm usually not the party sort so... I'll probably end up sleeping around 9:30pm as well!

IT would be fine for me - I will be snoring around 10pm I am sure - I don't do late. Of course if I went to the effort to go to or plan a party I would stay awake until midnight at least. That is pretty strange if you ask me.

I once went to a party similiar to that. They wanted to do something with their friends and were going later to bring in the new year with family members. One of them was ill I think! Never know why people do things as they do. Maybe they are going to have their own private party later. HEE HEE
