I am over 70, but still feel like I am just 7. I love to go dancing with my wonderful husband of almost 40 years.Since we have never earned a lot of money, we have learned to take care of what we have. We live in the mountains in north georgia in a big beautiful house that my husband build and it is mortgage free. Now I am trying to save so my "younger" husband can retire someday.

I checked on all my mutual funds and stocks that I hold. I keep track of them monthly. I was pleased to see that the value had increased by about $10,000 and I did not add one dime to any of them.

You mean the value of all of your holdings? Or something else?

I wish I could have that kind of a hike with mine.

Yes, the value of all my mutual funds and I do own some stocks too, but I think mutual funds are smarter to have.

Isn't it great to have the market go up, instead of down?
My IRA went up forty thousand dollars in less that six months. After 9/11, I lost about $75,000. though. It has recovered, and then some, but it is a risky business. Not for the faint of heart! However, "No guts, no blue chips".
