Doctor appointment

November 13th, 2006 at 03:02 pm

I had to make a dr. appt. for my dh this morning. Something in his foot has bothered him for weeks now.
He is going to a foot doctor. He went once before and was in the office 1 minute. The bill was $175. I am glad I put away $100 a week in our medical envelope! Today is pay day, so I will be going to the bank and then home to do my budget for the week!

When you say that you put away $100. a week, is that for everything including your insurance$ We have private health insurance, but it is stangling us at $1256. a month and it doesn't pay anything.

Yes, can you elaborate on the medical envelope?

I have pondered about the merit of opening a Health Savings account at my credit union. The downside is that once I put the money in there, I can only draw it out for medical expenses. On the other hand, the upside is that I can earn interest AND it is tax-sheltered.

But anyways, good work Ima. I knew that if anybody would be prepared for such a contingency, it would be you. Wink
