Dinner home

August 25th, 2006 at 03:39 pm

We had dinner home last night. My husband says he is starting to really miss eating out. You see, he has always done most of the cooking because he likes to cook on the grill. Now, with this heat and as hard as he works, he says he just doesn't even feel like cooking outside anymore. I guess it is back to going out to eat at night unless I can figure out to make other stuff he likes! I will add $20 to my challenge money from staying home.
Prev. total $13,618.00
today 20.00
new total $13,638.00

Ima - question? Do you actually put a real live $20 in the pot? Is this literal money or are you moving it from one online account to another?

Everything I've seen you write about your dinners out, underscores how much they seem to mean to both of you.

It's your opportunity to get out of the house.
It's your husband's relaxation after a long workday.
It's a date that you both look forward to sharing.
It's a ritual that benefits you both.
AND You get to interact with the servers and staff in a way you find satisfying.

Take the poor man out to eat. Please.

The savings just don't add up against the loss in recreation and time together. Wink

Ok Bookie! Yes Lux, I actually take $20 cash and put it in a pot. I don't know anything about computers, so have never moved money around on line!!

But Ima look at you here, mobing letters about every day on your blog. It really is pretty simple to move money online as well and you get all that extra little interest building up. Try it sometime.

Start small. See if it makes you uncomfortable. If I can do it, you ought to be able to as well.

And, yeah, go eat w/that great hardworking man of yours!!

Ima, if you don't want to spend the money going out, then try to fix dh something he adores. Or, learn to grill out if that's what he likes. My dh likes stuff grilled, but doesn't grill so I do it. But, money is only so much -- going out is important to both of you -- you have to enjoy your time too.
