New credit card

May 7th, 2006 at 04:44 pm

I just got an offer for a new GM credit card. This one will give you cash back, but instead of it being credited to your account once a year, you can ask for a check when the amount gets to $100. The problem is, I don't charge very much. Do you think I should charge more of the everyday things and then just pay it off monthly? Is that a good idea?

Knowing your committment to frugality and how disciplined you are, I think a rewards card would be great for you....This is how I buy everything...but I get to tap into the rewards at $20 rather than $100...

Just make sure there is no annual or hidden fees.

You'll be surprised at how fast those points add up once your start doing this.

Truly, if you pay it off each month...those rewards are FREE MONEY.

If you are interested in using reward cards, you should pick one that gives you 5% back for grocery, gas and drugstore purchases. There's one now that gives you a $50 GC after your first purchase CitiŽ Diamond PreferredŽ Rewards Card

For other reward cards you can look at this site

In yesterday's coupon inserts there was an ad for the citi Diamond Preferred Rewards card which rebates 5% back for gas, groceries and drugstores and 1% for everything else. It also gives you $100 in Gift Cards the first time you use the card.
