Savings at the grocery store.

May 1st, 2006 at 07:10 pm

Today is payday, I always love doing my budget, especailly if there is something left over. My dh worked 7 days this week, so it was a good paycheck.
I am giving him a little extra for his allowance, gas is just so high he can't make it on $60 a week. I had to get a few things at the grocery store that I forgot on Saturday and I used coupons and saved $3, which I will add to my challenge money.
prev. total $4881.00
today 3.00
new total $4884.00

Hi there! I'm the one that likes Elvis. You saw him the same year he died. My aunt also got to see him later that same year. Have you been to Graceland or are you not that die hard of a fan?

Anyway, I was just reading your latest post. Going to the grocery store for me is where I usually unneccesarily overspend. And most people don't like doing budgets! haha. Glad to hear you do!

I am a die heart fan and I have a complete Elvis bedroom. But I have not been to Graceland, mostly cause I don't like traffic and avoid large cities. I have been on a budget for 40 years and it works great for me.

My parents dragged me kicking and screaming to Graceland when I was a teenager. I was NOT a fan. But it was really interesting and I saw a whole other side of him that I knew little about outside his music. Well, all I knew before hand was that my mother and aunt adored him and that was enough to make me bolt for the hills. For a true fan, if you ever can afford to go there, it is really worth it.

Heres a story for you! I was passing thru Memphis on rainy evening and decided I would just "drive past" Graceland. (I did'nt know you are supposed to park across the street, pay, and ride a tram over! I'd never been there, and it was dark and.......) Well.... the gates were open, so I turned in and proceeded up the driveway! Did'nt realize I had a little guard running after me screaming! It was tooooo funny! There was apparently some charity event going on there (thats why the gates were open) and I was an unwelcome gate crasher! It was a lot harder backing back down the driveway...... I did return years later and take the paid tour. It wasn't too crowded. You should try it Ima! You would LOVE it!
