Our waitress, Julie

I have always tried to talk to our waitresses and encourage them to save money. I tell them how I started off waitressing over 20 years ago and how I put 10% of my very low tips, into savings and into mutual funds.
Last night, our waitress Julie, told us that she has saved over $500 and put it in a certificate of deposit. I am so proud of her.

    Excellent!! Let's keep the word spreading. I'm working with my 10 year old and 13 going on 14 about such things as budget, save, spend, short term goals, long term goals. It's harder for them now than if I had started 5 years ago, but each one is coming along in his own way.

    Joni, it was the court house in Blairsville, 20 miles from blue Ridge. We have lived here 22 years and love it. I lived in Fannin county for 11 years. We lived out in the Dial area on the Toccoa river. We moved to Blairsville because my husband is a builder and all his builiding was in Blairsville. Nothing was found at courthouse, just a prank!
    Downtown Blue Ridge used to be very ugly. A guy we built for started a big antique shop and consignment store in the old hotel. Others moved in one by one and now it is a cute downtown.
    I don't think we know Ken Owens!
