card 12 days late

March 6th, 2006 at 10:38 pm

I just got our mail, it comes late. My friend sent my husband a birthday card and it came today. His birthday was Feb. 24th. Do you sent cards late? I feel like it is a waste of money. I put cards out to look at before my birthday, but after that I throw them away.
So she spent $3 on this card and I am just going to throw it away.
I have found my grandchildren don't card about the card, just the check inside. I buy my birthday cards at the dollar store for 50 cents each. Is that being cheap?

I almost never buy cards...they were never big in my family. Hubby's family is another story, but I've been weaning them off! I agree that they're a waste of money...

me too, I made my mom reuse my Christmas card for years. I kept giving it back to her and telling her to give it to me again the next year Smile But eventually she started up again, she just likes to buy cards and I figure if it makes her happy, I guess I can accept it, even though it bothers me about the waste of a tree.

I try to make up a nice poem (or a list of memories or things I appreciate about the person) and add some appropriate clipart to it. It takes less time for me to do this than to browse through cards at the dollar store...and it costs only the paper and ink to print it on!
