My husband has gone to Florida to see his dad. He is 92 today. I use to go with him, but now with 2 dogs, I don't. However, I sure am missing him and so do both of the "girls" I have stayed home and had 3 no use gas days in a row, so that it $6 to add to the challenge.

Well, I have been a little lax about saving money lately. The Braves are finished until next April and I have not been paying attention as to whether the stock market goes up or down. I did have 3 no use gas days this week, so I will add $6 to the challenge money.

I got credited for the interest due on my large c.d. at Melrose Credit Union. I was unsure if I wanted to tie up that much money for 5 years, but so far it has been a good decision.
I opened the c.d. 2 1/2 years ago for a 2.9% rate. So far, I have not found anything else paying that much. Hard to believe that back in the 70's, we were paying 8% on c.d's. (i worked at a S & L) I am adding that to the $20 challenge too.

I get two dividend checks every quarter. The one from Tim Horton came last week and MY wendy's check came today. I do believe in the drip program, but for some reason I am not enrolled in the Wendy's drip. I think cause they have changed several times over the years. Anyway, I will add it to the $20 challenge.

Our town is getting a Starbucks. They are putting it inside our Ingles grocery store. The cashier told me that a cup of coffee would cost $6. Could that be true?
Lucky for me, I have never been a coffee drinker. I usually just drink ice water or a small cranberry juice in the mornings!
I had 3 no use gas days this week for a total of $6 to add to the challenge.

We had to go out and buy a new riding mower last night. DH has been trying to repair the old this entire summer. It just won't start and he has spent lots of time and money on it.
I had hoped, being the end of the season, we could find one on sale. Wrong, we couldn't even find any at full price. Finally, we went to Murphy, N.C. and bought the last one in stock. I sure hated to spend that money. Our first snapper lasted over 20 years; this one, only seven.
I also got a pinecone check.

I ordered my pinecone check today. It was for a survey that I did almost a month ago. I wish they would just go back to mailing them after you complete the survey. I hate having to go online to order a $3 check.
In good news, my dh talked to a prospective client today who wants him to build a custom house. He looked at our last big custom house and really like it but the lot was too steep and he wants a house on a level lot. (good mountain view lots are generally steep)
Braves won two games, I had a no use gas day yesterday and I saved $6 buying sprite on sale. That is $10 more for the $20 challenge.
