Grocery savingsFebruary 26th, 2013 at 08:29 pmI add the savings of using my Ingles advantage card to the $20 challenge every week. I shop on Tuesdays, but I missed last week. So I am adding the $10.00 that I saved last week and the $7 today for a total of $17. Company for supperFebruary 23rd, 2013 at 07:34 pmWE are having company for supper tonight. I bought a ham to fix. The store receipt says that I saved $29 by buying the ham on sale. It is the only day I ever got to see Elvis in person in concert. He came to my area a lot when I was about 12 (Daytona beach) but my mother would not allow me to go and see him in person. I finally to to see him the year he died. He was great in person. I shall never forget him. I met my husband three days later, so it was the best week of my life. I remember coming home from the hospital at 5 am. in the morning, 24 years ago. It was 9 degrees outside. She got married back in early October. Now, I got a letter from her saying that she is pregnant. They use to send us a check every few months, but now they just deduct it off the bill. I still take the money and add it to the $20 challenge. This month it came to $83. I will take it! Bridge baronFebruary 8th, 2013 at 07:50 pmI play bridge at my house every monday! I love it! I took lessons a few years ago and have been playing ever since. Last Monday, my friend installed Bridge Baron on my computer. Now, I can play bridge every day! I love it. Do any of you play bridge? It is a cheap wasy to have fun! Another leash bites the dust!February 7th, 2013 at 09:55 pmMy puppy has chewed thru 3 of her leashes. On Tuesday, I bought 2 more new leashes at Ace. I put one on her yesterday and by this morning she had chewed thru it. I am on day 10, so I have saved up $300!! So far, so good! Both os my puppies got groomed this week and one had a heartworm test, so it was a bit of a spending week for me. It was poseponed from last Friday because of ice on the roads. It is the first closing that I ever went to, that I did not receive a check at the time of the closing. Ifound that very odd. We did not get the closing money until about 2:30 in the afternoon and my real estate agent brought it to me! Someone asked how much people on this forum have gotten in rewards and rebates this past year. I really don't know, but I am sure it was close to $1000. I think I will try and keep track of it this year. Dh tried to go to work but did not make it, so he is drawing a house plan for the next spec house, here at home. He has always designed his own house plans.
