Little sums add up!

Our town is getting a Starbucks. They are putting it inside our Ingles grocery store. The cashier told me that a cup of coffee would cost $6. Could that be true?

Lucky for me, I have never been a coffee drinker. I usually just drink ice water or a small cranberry juice in the mornings!

I had 3 no use gas days this week for a total of $6 to add to the challenge.

I am adding the interest that I earned in my bank accounts in August. I only earned $19 in my ING account.I have loaned out most of the money in that account to finance a new home that my friends are building.

My new money market account is paying me 1% and I earned $202 there.

I got a $63 check from Chase credit card in the mail on Saturday. I get a chase check every month. I enjoy that! I will add it to the challenge.

My hear husband did just what he has done every labor day since I have known him, he labored. He went to work as usual. He is home now, but is cutting the grass. We cooked steaks out on the grill last night, so tonight will probably just be something like bacon and eggs.

I did my grocery shopping on Tuesday. I saved $11 using my advantage card. The braves have won 4 gmes in a row, so that is a total of $15 I will add to the challenge.

I received another interest check yesterday. This if for the loan I made to my friends to build a cabin. They are leaving for Europe this weekend, so they made the payment a week early. I will, of course, add it to the $20 challenge.

We had to go out and buy a new riding mower last night. DH has been trying to repair the old this entire summer. It just won't start and he has spent lots of time and money on it.
I had hoped, being the end of the season, we could find one on sale. Wrong, we couldn't even find any at full price. Finally, we went to Murphy, N.C. and bought the last one in stock. I sure hated to spend that money.Our first snapper lasted over 20 years; this one, only seven.

I also got a pinecone check.

I ordered my pinecone check today. It was for a survey that I did almost a month ago. I wish they would just go back to mailing them after you complete the survey. I hate having to go online to order a $3 check.
In good news, my dh talked to a prospective client today who wants him to build a custom house. He looked at our last big custom house and really like it but the lot was too steep and he wants a house on a level lot. (good mountain view lots are generally steep)
Braves won two games, I had a no use gas day yesterday and I saved $6 buying sprite on sale. That is $10 more for the $20 challenge.

I received another interest check yesterday; this one was for $194. I loaned some friends enough money to build a cabin and they are supposed to pay me back the end of October. In the meantime, I am charging them 3% interest. I will add that to the challenge.

WE had our closing on the spec house this morning. This is the 2nd house we have closed on this year. It was nice to add that money to our newest money market account.

My bank is offering a new 1% interest money market account, so I oppened one. That is about the highest rate I can find, but it is only good for 6 months. I sure wish higher rates would come back. I have an old checking account that is sitting dormant, so I think I will close it down and add to the money market.

I am just trying to catch up on my $20 challenge. I had an interest payment of $88from ING to add to my $20 challenge.

I have been out sick since July 8th, thus only one post for the month. I have had an upset stomach and diarrhea. This is the sickest I have been in my life. Ifinally went to a doctor on Wednesday. They are giving me medicine and I have had some lab tests. I have put savings on hold for two long. I need to get started back on my $20 challenge.
I know I have had at least 10 no use gas days this month; the braves won yesterday and I saved $6 at the grocery store using my advantage card.
Thus, I have $27 for my $20 challenge.
