It is just nine more months until Christmas. Gosh, for years, I started christmas shopping in January. Now, I only shop for my husband. We finally hit that age when we know we just don't need any more "stuff". As a matter of fact, we really need to get rid of some of the "stuff" that we already have.
We collected stuff when we were younger. I have a large collection of hummels. My husband collected bottles and beer cans. What do you do with 700 beer cans at least 25 years old or older? Sell them along with the house. (they are on shelves in the garage) I would love to sell the hummels too, even if I just get what I have in them. Most of them are 30 years old too.
Oh well, you all start looking for good bargains for christmas!! It is a coming!!

I have found that, rather than having to buy less for Christmas, I have to buy more. Now, there are son's-in-law, five little grandsons, three step-grandkids, as well as DH, my kids, and my mom and DH's mom. We did stop exchanging gifts with our siblings, and their kids though. It just keeps increasing! So, I do start shopping in January. I get great deals on clearance toys in Feb. and even in March. Last week, Wal-Mart had Mega Blocks "Pirates of the Carribean" sets on clearance. What was normally about sixty dollars a set is now twenty. I can get them gifts they love and not spend a fortune. Also, if I buy all year long, I don't end up with a big credit card bill. Actually, I don't use a credit card unless I purchase something on line, and then it gets paid off as soon as the bill arrives.
