Put that back!

December 16th, 2006 at 07:12 pm

I can't believe I did that! A complete stranger was talking to his wife on the phone in the grocery store and she was telling him to get sweetened coconut. He picked up a box which cost 40cents more than the same brand in a bag. I noticed the ounces were the same, so I held up the bag to him and said, "this one is 40 cheaper and it is exactly the same thing! He asked his wife if a bag was ok, she said yes and I gave him to him and took away the box.
I feel foolish after that, so I donated to the H.S. band which was outside playing for tips.
If I was ever in a band, I would want to be a drummer!!!
I did manage to save $3 using coupons, so I will add that to my challenge.
prev. total $19,847.00
today 3.00
new total $19,850.00

Your good deed(s) for the day...one out of habit and one out of (unwarranted) guilt! Reason to make you feel good, not guilty!

    Have a great weekend Julie!

I was a drummer in a High School marching band and it was great fun. This was an all girl school, we participated in every local community event right in step with the boys band. The down side was the snare bouncing off your thigh-BRUISE! The protection was strapping a sanitary napkin on the leg. It worked.

i think that's cute and that you did pretty good...maybe it will help them to remember to look twice and do some comparison shopping next time...
also, i know from experience, marching bands could always use donations so i'm sure they appreciated your help...
when i first started high school (same year my teacher started) we arrived to find that many of the instruments were being held together with rubber bands... luckily i had my a second hand flute already but i do remember that we had to do lots of fundraising to pay for everything.... instruments, uniforms, trips to football games, etc...

That's cute! And you helped him save money! You might have got someone else into to saving money!

Great that you did that. I have to "assess" whether that person's open or I'm going to get slapped or something.

Our youngest DS is a drummer. He played in the band up until this year (band conflicted with a computer programming class he wanted) and he plays at church.
