Tina's challenge

November 6th, 2006 at 03:30 pm

I hate that sometimes I miss some of the blogs when there is more than one post that day. That is how I missed out on Tina's healthy challenge.
I already pay myself $1 to walk a mile on my treadmill, but I see some of the gals are paying themselves to drink a lot of water, which is so good for you. I am really convinced that I am so healthy for my age because I never drink coffee, tea, soft drinks, just water. (Ok at night I do have cocktails)
So I am going to start measuring my water intake and aim for 2 quarts a day. I think you are supposed to drink 8, 8ounce glasses a day and that is 2 quarts. Am I right??
Anyway, I just got out a 2 quart container and filled it with water. Of course I will drink over ice, so I will probably get more than 2 quarts if I drink it all. I will pay myself $1 for that also.

I do too. Thank goodness the "all_entries" tab will still show... all of the entries. Big Grin It's what I use exclusively now.

i'm such a smuck about water: i really should drink more!

my dad's theory is that if you drink as much water as 'they' say you should, you wind up going to the bathroom so often that 'they' will now say you have bladder issues *g*

and yes, 8 8oz glasses = 2 quarts. seems like a lot, but get in 2 with every meal and suddenly you're almost done!

lol, it does feels like you have bladder issue. I tried drinking the 64oz of water per day months ago and at first I have to run to the bathroom every half hour. It gets better though, or should I say you'll learn better bladder control.

The good new? I lost 5 lbs just because I drink the extra water. Smile

Yay, another water drinker for the challenge! Glad you are coming with us, Ima. I am drinking 8/8oz a day, also. It's great that you already drink a lot of water. I do sometimes, and I don't sometimes. This makes sure I get into the habit of drinking as much as I need to most of the time.

With water, I used to have a cup of ice water next to me on the desk. I would just sip it whenever I felt like it, and it was amazing just how much water would go down like that.

Nowadays, I don't keep any liquids next to my computer stuff.... It was an embarrassing lesson that involved a now-defunct laptop and a can of soda.... Frown

BA, you should get one of those helmets with the sippy straws *g* or at least a water bottle with a top, dude.

LOL. Yes, that's a most excellent idea. Considering how accident-prone I can be, a helmet of any kind is a great idea... especially if it also serves beverages.

The only downside is that I'll actually look even dorkier than I already do. Stick Out Tongue

then get a camel pack and wear in underneath a jacket: you'll be warm *and* hydrated... hey, maybe that's what i should do...
