trash bags

May 21st, 2006 at 08:45 pm

For someone who eats out a lot, I seem to have a lot of trash. The garbage service will only pick up your garbages if it is in trash bags.
I usually bought a small box of trash bags about every two weeks, 10 for $1.89.
I decided to see how much money i could save if I bought the big box for about $5.99. I bought that box and wrote when I started using the first bag, on Feb. 22nd. That is three months ago and I have a few bags left.
So instead of spending almost $4 a month on garbage bags, I am now spending $2 a month, a savings of one half.!!

Putting dates on things like that makes almost everything into a challenge here........How long can it last????

Excellant idea, I did this myself and found the savings to be very small, about 1 dollar a month for 3 months, so I don't always get the big box. But it was nice to know.

Now I am going to see how long my toilet paper lasts. I got 14 double 4 packs for $1 each. That is 56 rolls. Should last a while.

Great way of thinking and keeping track. I know that our last purchase was more bags for the money but what we bought was a cheaper type so it takes more to hold our trash. Oh well, live and learn.

I love doing that! I had laundry detergent last for almost 3 months for a family of five. Made me happy!
