The first time!

Today, I paid my electric bill online. It is the very first time I have ever tried to pay anything online.
I am trying to spend $3000 on my new Chase sapphire card in order to get the $500 bonus. I paid off my husband's hospital bill, but that still was not enough. I don't need anything and don't just want to buy "things" so I thought I would charge things I normally pay cash for. I have never once charged food at the grocery store, but this week I think I am going to. I will just take the cash and put it in an envelope to pay the credit card when it comes due.
I have used the cash system all of my life, so this seems really strange to me.

    Ima, I actually buy my groceries and other things with my credit card...it makes checkout easier than with a check, and at the end of the month, I pay it off. I feel I'm getting to use the card company's money "free" for a few days. I pay a few things online just through my bank account because sometimes out of town stuff gets delayed through no fault of mine...I feel I know it is getting paid. I hate to say this, but it is getting where it is dangerous to pay for things with cash...meaning it is dangerous to carry a lot of cash...lots of robberies!

    Congratulations! I went with doing some bill paying online. The big issue that I have is that the bill coming in in the mail is such a great reminder that you have the bill.

    Perhaps there is a business expense or a car expense that you can cover.

    I'm charging everything i can on my chase freedom, for the $200 cash back. I've been charging groceries fro some time now, but i find that really the only other utility type bill I've discovered i can charge is my phone bill. Other things like sewers and water, they won't let me charge.
