Stocking up!

I am stocking up on diet sprite. It is the only thing we drink w/ mixed drinks because it has no calories or caffeine. A 12 pack here usually goes for close to $4.50 each, but this week it is on sale for 4 for $10. That just saved me $8 which I will add to the challenge money. I also got a free watermelon from Ingles.

    I just paid $3.99 for a 24 pack of diet coke. I should go back for more...but I'm trying to get packed for vacation!

    My girls and I got free samples of Blue Bunny frozen yogurt treats on the way out of the store. They were delish!

    I have been doing a lot of stock-up in the past few months, too! It only makes sense to buy a lot of something when it is cheapest. I look particularly for sales on pricier items, like cat litter, meat, and things that won't go bad if I hang onto them for awhile like toothpaste, soap, floss, and hydrogen peroxide. Just today, I was at Dollar General and Palmolive dish liquid (20 oz.) was on sale for 85 cents. I had a 25 cent coupon, so I got a bottle for 60 cents. My lowest price on this product several months ago was at Walgreens where I bought 2 12 oz bottles of Palmolive and some other things on sale along with using manufacturer coupons. The Palmolive came to only 9 cents. Wow. Liz Pulliam Weston at MSN calls it the savings account you can eat. My husband thinks I am nuts, but he also acknowledges that we don't usually run out of staple items that we use a lot.
