I got a check in the mail from the Wendy's Arby's group. I do have over 500 shares of stock, but I have no idea what the check is for. But it is $8 and change I will add to my challenge money.

    It is probably a dividend. Some stocks pay dividends on a regular basis, i.e. quarterly, semi-annually, etc., and in some cases the dividend paid out when the board votes for one in a year they have met or exceeded their financial goals. Enjoy the proceeds, enough for a Chicken Breast Filet with cheese value meal. Cheers!

    Yes, WEN pays a $0.01 dividend. With my Scottrade account, they would just drop that money electronically into my trading account. Kind of neat that they mailed you a check though.
