68 cents a pound

November 21st, 2008 at 08:43 pm

That is what I paid for a turkey today. I think that is a pretty good price. If I spend another $45 or more next week, I can get a free turkey. I don't cook turkey very often, as much as we like it. There is just two of us and it seems to last forever.
According to my advantage card, I saved $5 on groceries today, so I will add that to my challenge money.
Prev. total $22,953.00
today 5.00
new total $22,958.00

Turkey prices are great where I live. I paid 35 cents a pound for a Honeysuckle White turkey. You don't even have to purchase anything else to get that price. Sure saves a lot, when they have them so inexpensively. What else can you buy for 35 cents a pound?

Ooooooh, great turkey prices! I paid $.79/lb for a Honeysuckle White (whole) turkey. Plus, I already had in the freezer, from a few months back, a bone-in (I don't think it's boneless because it weighs 8.5 lbs and most, if not all, turkey breasts are up to about 7 pounds) Honeysuckle White turkey breast that I got for $.99/lb.

I bought mine at $.59 a pound with a $10.00 purchase which isn't hard to do. I make mine for during the Christmas season.
