Sad Homecoming!

September 7th, 2008 at 12:31 pm

We went on our first vacation of the year, 3 days in Gatlinburg, Tenn. My husband loves old cars and every year they have a show in Pigeon Forge called "Shades of the Past"
We stayed at a nice hotel right down town, had several excellent meals and really enjoyed ourselves.

However, all that changed when we got home. There was a message on the answering machine that said someone had found my husband's youngest brother dead in his house. He had not been sick. He was only 47. Needless to say, we are in shock. They will do an autopsy to determine the cause of his death.

Hug your family!

Julie, this is very sad news. And, how shocking it must have been to learn of this by a message on your answering machine. I am so sorry for your loss.

This young man's name wouldn't happen to be Will, would it? We just learned of a former employee, same age as your husband's brother, who was just found in his home as well. It would be an awful coincidence if these were the same.

Ima I am so sorry. I know and understand the shock you are feeling. I lost my ex-roommate last month, and she was only 39. She died of a diabetic coma, and didn't even know she was diabetic. Two weeks before she died she had a full medical check up with blood work. We were suppose to have lunch the week she died. I truly truly feel you pain.

Sorry to hear about your family's loss. It is hard enough to lose a loved one but when is is someone younger who had no history of disease/illness it comes as such a shock. It somehow makes it seem that the natural order of things has been upset.
