Sticker shock!!

I just got back from grocery shopping. I cannot believe how much prices have gone up. The 16 slice kraft cheese that used to be $1.99 is now $2.99. We needed liter fluid but I did not buy any. It has gone up to $4.99.
I did however have quite a few coupons so I did manage to save $8 with those. I will add this to my challenge money today.

    Yes, Ima I was shocked the other day to see almost all the cheeses in a grocery at $6 and above! EGADS!!

    I hear you! I budget $400.00 a month for groceries, I'm wondering how I'm going to manage with two growing boys that eat for 4. Wish me luck.

    I too had a shock when I needed cream cheese. How did it go from $.99 to $2.19???? I refused to buy it at that price. I about had a heart attack and thought I must have read the sticker wrong.

    I was also shocked yesterday when I bought the cat food and it was $1.00 more per bag.

    Yes, the price on ice cream caught me by surprise - buy one, get one Breyers USED to be $5.99 - now it is $6.79! And my family's favorite brand of frozen ravioli/tortellini was $2.38 and is now $2.89.
    The only thing that seems to be on super discount recently are the processed snacks that I stopped buying. It was a challenge to walk past $1.99 Oreos!

    I just found your blog and I wanted to tell you it is very inspiring!!

    It makes me want to really increase my savings. I even deleted my shopping bag on the jcpenney website so i wouldn't be tempted to buy the stuff!!
