Finance class

September 27th, 2007 at 08:18 pm

I take a local finance class every thursday and I really enjoy it. There a very few people in the class and i wonder why? Of course, it is taught by a young man from Edward Jones and all they sell is load funds. I have all my mutual fund money in no load funds.

The stock market has gone up two days in a row, so I will add $2 to my challenge account.
Prev. total $21,077.00
today 2.00
new total $21,079.00

Hmmm I wouldn't mind taking a finance class but I need something very basic. I might look into that.

I find that even if you have a basic knowledge about finances that there always new laws. When we took a class at our Jr. College, we had an attorney that taught one of the classes as a guest speaker. I don't think anyone walking out of there would want to be without a will in place or a durable power of attorney for finances or health. You can always take something major even if it's only 1 new thing. If it changed your way of thinking, it was well worth the class.

Yes, the class is free, except for the $5 book.
