A check in the mail.

August 25th, 2007 at 07:18 pm

My husband did a small job for a friend a few weeks ago. We have learned that unless the job is under 30 minutes, we really need to charge people. Otherwise, he would be on call all the time cause he is so talented. He was there for 2 1/2 hours plus furnished some supplies, so the bill was for $81.
I never count things like that in my budget cause I never know when the check will come in.
Well, I got the check in the mail today, the braves won last night, the stock market closed up yesterday and I walked a mile. That is $84 dollars more for my challenge money.
Prev. total $19,531.00
today 84.00
new total $19,615.00

$81.00 for 2 1/2 hours? That's unheard of in my neck of the woods. Why is he so inexpensive? Is that the going rate where yall live? Smile

He is a builder and he does plumbing and electrical also. He charges $25 an hour, but on these small jobs, he charges $30 an hour. That is why he is so popular. No, that is not the going rate. Most plumbers/electricians would charge more than $100 just for a house call. Plus my husband furnished the wire so they did not have to buy a whole roll.
