A check in the mail

July 19th, 2007 at 02:10 pm

My husband is constantly called to do handyman work on all the houses he has built over the past 23 years. He really does not have the time (he works 7 days a week)but sometimes he does it.
Last week he was called to wire a house and install outside fans on all the porches. Also, to install a dead bolt.
The people were from florida, so i had to send them a bill.
When I send a bill, I do not count it in his regular paycheck, which I write out every Sunday night and cash on Monday.
So, a check came in the mail yesterday for payment and I am going to add this to my $20 challenge. It was for $170. (it included some materials)
The braves and the stock market let me down yesterday, but I did walk a mile and did 20 flights of stairs. So I have $172 to add to the challenge.
Prev. total $14,857.00
today 172.00
new total $15,029.00

I am sure his work is very much appreciated. It is hard to find a good handyman.

The handyman I utilized when I lived in Honolulu is so busy, he can't take on new clients. We keep him on "retainer" just in case we have any problems in the house we have there. Not only is his work THAT good, but the man is such an honest caring person.

It's also hard to find a good husband. Good for you!

I am so lucky, he can do anything, including, plumbing, electrical, tile, cabinets, build furniture, etc. The only thing he can't do is electronic stuff. (He has never touched a computer)

Mine is the same. He can do just about anything. Don't give up hope on the computer.

Mine uses it to bill his customers. You have to find something that interests him and you'll get him started. Mine likes music so he likes ITunes, and Yahoo music.

Also, if you google a question for something that he is interested in, he'll develop an interest. Maybe google something like: What is the best saw for building furniture or something on that order. He could compare prices on the web very easily.
