My electric bill came!!

My electric bill came. I have been watching it all month. July, august and September are ususally my highest months because of running the a/c. My budget is $160, but my bill was only $113, including tax. So, I have $47 to add to my challenge money.

    I have my utility account on automatic pilot. Not only do I pay it automatically by my bank's billpay system (they write the check and lick the stamp for free!), but I am on "budget billing." What that means is, based on my last 12 months' bills, they average and divide by 12 months and budget the same amount each month for my utilities the next 12 months so I don't have to pay more in the months I use more. In July they assess for the next 12 month's budget billing and eitehr bill or refund me the overpayment (last year it was $.12). I have peace of mind with a predicable bill every month.
    Everyone should ask their local utility company if they provide this service.
